Along the path of life, there are road bumps. Sometimes, these challenges can make things difficult, leading to feeling stuck, physical and mental tension, an absence of joy, a lack of satisfaction in life, or confusion about where to go next. Often when we look back, we can see that these road bumps served as learning opportunities and springboards to further growth. I enjoy helping people transform challenges into growth. I believe that we all have a unique set of strengths and talents, and by using them, we can achieve a state of wellness where we can thrive in life. Finding our values, integrating them into our life choices, and setting meaningful goals can help us to live the lives we want to live.
I utilize an eclectic approach to treatment, drawing on reality therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, and I make sure to fit my theoretical orientation to each individual. I operate under the style of Motivational Interviewing, and I have received extensive training and feedback on my skills. I have experience working with clients with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, hoarding concerns, non-suicidal self-injury, suicidality, and trauma. I make sure to meet each client where they are and I use a non-judgmental, accepting approach in counseling.
